More pics of the CrunchPad – and it looks pretty good to me

Techcrunch have today posted more images of their affordable in-development web tablet for wireless browsing: the CrunchPad. As well as looking far sleeker and having a more durable case, the latest version is nearly 2cm thinner than the previous prototype.

In addition what’s proving very interesting to observe, as the CrunchPad nears an actual finalised version and its subsequent market launch date, is just how effective the product’s relationship to the Techcrunch blog is proving.

Certainly I can’t remember such a high level of interest and anticipation for a similar device while in development for quite some time. Maybe the iPhone or Amazon Kindle – but they were obviously far more complex and groundbreaking products (no offence to the CrunchPad – I’m sure even Michael Arrington would agree).

In short the product is looking very interesting – and the job of drumming up market awareness of it at such an early stage is being handled superbly by the cross-brand potential of the Techcrunch/CrunchPad connection. I personally am looking forward to further developments…

I just received my Kindle 2 and had some concerns about the viewing area and size of the text. I have an “eye issue” and noticed it was getting harder to read books. The Kindle solved that problem in a flash. It is so much easier to read than a paper page and you can adjust the font size as needed. For older readers, I think this would be the answer to any reading problems. Great item!!
