Super BIG news in the social networking dimension

No, its nothing to do with the fact that Facebook has announced 50 million new users added in the past two months - taking their total users to over 300m. Nor is it anything to do with the fact that Pearl Jam have been premiering their new album exclusively on Myspace...

Instead what's got me pretty excited right now is the following version of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet:

Romeo tweets his dying lament: O, I am fortune's fool! Maybe just a tool. And so I die. BTW that other woman I was into before Juliet? Would've been a safer bet.

Haha indeed - nothing wrong with a bit of geeky fun is there? Well for those who think the answer is no, there's plenty more of this in the pipeline for the beginning of November, when a new comedy book will be published, distilling many well known and popular classic literature texts into such witty tweets as the above.

Twitterature is the name of the game and no doubt the two university students who devised it will be pretty excited about the book's prospects on the christmas humour shelf this coming winter. I personally hope they do very well, and will leave you with the young pair's tweet take on Goethe

Goethe's Young Werther emotes: Have I noted how upset I am? I am very upset. #pain #angst #suffering #sexdep.

I guess the only suitably geeky sign-off here is...

- lol
