Some of the more attentive blog followers out there might remember that a while back our twitter coverage featured a piece on the ways in which Twitter was re-shaping the celebrity sphere, namely the way in which it was opening up a whole new media forum for fans of non glossy magazine-featured celebrities to nonetheless observe and participate in their favourite celebs private lives, and daily exploits. You may not see Stephen Fry drunkenly stumbling out of a limo in a Heat centerfold – but you can access his day to day activities via the medium of twitter for example…
Well, there’s obviously also some quite serious downsides of being a media celebrity – which it seems now also extend to…

No, its nothing to do with the fact that Facebook has announced 50 million new users added in the past two months – taking their total users to over 300m. Nor is it anything to do with the fact that Pearl Jam have been premiering their new album exclusively on Myspace…
Instead what’s got me pretty excited right now is the following version of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet:
Romeo tweets his dying lament: O, I am fortune’s fool! Maybe just a tool. And so I die. BTW that other woman I was into before Juliet? Would’ve been a safer bet.
Haha indeed – nothing wrong with a bit of geeky fun is there? Well for those who think the answer is no,…

Here’s a curious thing – the transcript of Twitter founder, Evan Williams’s, first interview on UK television – on BBC Newsnight. I won’t spoil it for you, and luckily the transcript is pretty complete so you can make up your own mind about it all – find it over at Guardian Tech online.
Read it? Ok, now what’s the overwhelmingly blatant conclusion? For me it was that the questions sadly betrayed a total lack of understanding even of Twitter’s most basic concepts, not to mention the finer points and more complex issues related to the network. I can’t help but feel that it’s hard to imagine such inane questions being considered worthy of featuring on the show in relation to an…

Ok, so it’s fair to say that Twitter has featured quite prominently on this blog in recent months, just as it has pretty much everywhere where people are talking about interesting new stuff about the web. There have been times of serious excitement about Twitter’s achievements – and also the odd ‘what’s-the-point-of-all-this?’ type post. Even Techcrunch has recently cheekily apologised for the extent of its Twitter coverage, but then continued to discuss it further, again and again and again…
Well, we’re doing the same right here, right now – and we’re not even apologising for it ;) – the reason being that a recent Twitter development is rapidly becoming quite an exciting prospect, even for the Twitter-sceptics among us.
The reason for all…

This post is essentially a glorified link to Twitter.co.uk – which is NOTÂ the uk domain of the popular micro-blogging giant, but actually an independent domain owned by someone entirely unconnected to the Twitter service.
Whatsmore, the owner of that domain is using the thousands of confused Twitter users that visit his site each week as a great way to raise money for charity (since the site has so many hits, companies pay to advertise on it – with proceeds going to charity).
All in all it seems like a very creative thing to do with a domain name that becomes suddenly (and accidentaly) very popular by association. This weekend alone the site has already raised nearly £200 for charity. Check it out for…
